Chapter 01

The problem space

Clinical information can be fragmented across appointments, paper records, and separate systems. A useful digital workflow must account for how care is delivered, who needs access, and what happens when connectivity or a supporting system is unavailable.

Chapter 02

Design priorities

Work from the tasks clinicians and support teams need to complete. Map information flows, privacy requirements, existing integrations, and the points where information becomes difficult to find or trust.

Chapter 03

System architecture

Role-based workflows, patient records, integration boundaries, and audit history form the core. Offline capture, conflict handling, and accessible interface design should follow the realities of the care setting rather than a generic dashboard.

Chapter 04

What to measure

Measure record completeness, duplicated work, task completion, and the effort required to retrieve relevant information. Validate usability with the people performing those tasks, and confirm privacy and operational requirements with the responsible stakeholders.
